Lay-bys & Special Orders Terms and Conditions
In this Lay-bys & Special Orders Terms and Conditions, the expressions “Lurene Jewellers”, "we", "us" and "our" are a reference to Lurene Jewellers.
A ‘Lay-by’ is defined as a system of paying a deposit to secure an item for later purchase and available in store only.
We understand it’s disappointing when you have your heart set on a piece of fine jewellery or swiss timepiece that might not be within your immediate price range, although the great news is, Lurene Jewellers are here to help by offering our simple lay-by option.
Lay-bys
- Our lay-bys can run for up to 15 weeks. If collection of the item has not been made by the due date a 5% surcharge of the purchase price will be incurred.
- When placing a lay-by, a minimum 20% non-refundable deposit of the total purchase amount is required. The remaining balance after deposit will be divided into monthly payments.
- Lay-bys can be used for jewellery valued at more than AUS$500.
- To assist us in serving you to a high standard of professionalism and efficiency, when making payments towards a lay-by, please bring your original receipt with you.
- The exchanging of a lay-by purchase will only be accepted under the following terms:
- One exchange only during the lay-by period continuing from the start of the original purchase date.
- Exchange is to be made within two weeks from the commencement date of the lay-by; and
- The exchanged item/s must be of equal or greater value than original total purchase amount.
- Lay-bys of more than one item may not be separated.
- Any outstanding balances must be paid in full and cleared before collection of your item/s.
- If a customer has requested a lay-by item/s to be modified and later cancels their lay-by, the customer must pay an amount necessary to restore the item to its original condition, in addition to the cancellation fee/s outlined above. Lurene Jewellers reserve the right to determine the cost for such restorative work.
- Cancellation of a lay-by will incur a 20% fee of the total purchase amount.
A ‘Special Order’ is defined as an item/s that is commissioned, modified, personalised, customised or manufactured in accordance with a customer’s specific requirements.

Special Orders
- A minimum 30% non-refundable deposit of the total purchase amount is required at the time of placing your Special Order to commence the job. Your order will only be accepted and commence once this amount has been paid.
- To assist us in serving you to a high standard of professionalism and efficiency, when making payments towards a Special Order, please bring your original receipt with you.
- We allow a 4-5 week completion period on all our Special Orders (commissioned pieces). The time taken in our manufacturing process means you will receive a high quality, luxury product that ensures longevity. We want you to love your jewellery purchase as much as we loved creating it for you and thank you in advance for your patience.
- Any outstanding balances must be paid in full and cleared before collection of your item/s.
- Prior notice must be given to Lurene Jewellers either via phone or in writing if you decide for someone other than the person named on the receipt to collect or to make payment on your behalf, and Lurene Jewellers reserve the right to ask for proof of their identity at collection.
- We do not offer any refunds or exchange after the collection of a Special Order for the reason of ‘Change of Mind’ due to the labour and material involved with crafting special orders to desired specifications. We kindly ask you to choose carefully before placing your Special Order.
- Should the incorrect personal details be provided at the time of a transaction Lurene Jewellers will not be held responsible and we ask that you confirm these details at the point of sale before we generate your tax invoice.
- Cancellation of a Special Order will incur a 20% fee of the total purchase amount.
